Job Summary :

Ford Direct is seeking a dedicated Senior Developer specializing in Databricks and PySpark for a long-term remote position.

This role involves replacing an existing Senior Developer and requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual ready to take on a leadership role in backend development while mentoring junior developers.

A successful candidate will have extensive experience with Databricks, SQL, Python, and backend development, along with a willingness to self-learn and work across time zones to support a global team.

Role and Responsibilities :

- Design cost-effective and best-practice-driven applications.

- Engage in hands-on development work and support the Technical Manager, Project Manager, Business team, and Technology team with integration requirements.

- Mentor junior developers and ensure code quality through regular code reviews.

- Collaborate with QA and automation teams to develop comprehensive testing scenarios.

- Maintain and manage production applications, ensuring a smooth user experience.

- Work with offshore and onsite resources to implement necessary changes effectively.

- Overlap work hours with the EST timezone to support application launches and handle production outages when needed.

- Document best practices and processes, ensuring thorough understanding of requirements and identifying potential gaps.

Minimum Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

- 5+ years of experience in IT development, with a strong background in :

1. Python/PySpark

2. SQL/PL-SQL

3. Databricks

4. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Experience designing solutions, reviewing code, and mentoring junior developers.

Experience with :

- Java or C#

- Azure

- Kafka

- Node.js

- Azure Data Factory

- Big Data toolsets

- Linux
