Job Description :
Key Responsibilities :
Firewall Configuration and Management :
- Manage and support advanced firewall configurations, including installation, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance to ensure optimal security posture.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution :
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex firewall issues and security incidents.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network security problems with minimal downtime.
Security Policy Implementation :
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies for firewalls and other network security devices to ensure network safety and compliance with organizational standards.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization :
- Continuously monitor firewall performance and traffic, optimize security device configurations, and recommend improvements to ensure high performance and security.
Incident Response and Risk Mitigation :
- Investigate security incidents related to firewall breaches, take corrective actions, and work with the broader security team to mitigate risks.
Collaboration and Documentation :
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including network engineers, security analysts, and IT support to ensure smooth operation and communication.
- Maintain accurate documentation for firewall configurations, incidents, and troubleshooting procedures.
Security Audits and Compliance :
- Participate in security audits, assist with vulnerability assessments, and ensure firewall infrastructure adheres to industry best practices and compliance standards.
Requirements & Skills :
- 7-10 years of experience in Firewall Engineering or Network Security with hands-on experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting firewalls.
- Strong expertise in Firewall technologies (e., Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco ASA, etc.
- L3 support experience for advanced firewall configurations, troubleshooting, and incident management.
- Deep understanding of network security concepts such as VPNs, IDS/IPS, NAT, SSL inspection, and traffic filtering.
- Experience in security policy management, including rule creation, auditing, and modification.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex security incidents under pressure.
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, etc.) and their security implications.
- Familiarity with SIEM tools, log analysis, and incident response.
- Experience working in a hybrid work environment and collaborating with remote teams effectively.
- Relevant certifications (e., Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, Cisco CCNP Security) are a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different technical teams and stakeholders
