Key Result Areas and Activities:

1. Power BI Development and Advanced Analytics:

• Design, develop, and implement advanced Power BI solutions, including interactive dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
• Utilize advanced analytics features such as DAX calculations, statistical modelling, and machine learning integration to perform sophisticated data analysis.

2. Data Modelling, Integration, and Performance Optimization:

• Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to understand data sources, perform data modelling, and ensure data quality and consistency.
• Optimize Power BI solutions for performance by fine-tuning data models, queries, and visuals.

3. Data Governance, Security, and Quality Assurance:

• Implement data governance and security best practices, including data access controls and data encryption.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of Power BI solutions to ensure accuracy and functionality.

4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations.
• Conduct regular meetings and presentations to demonstrate the capabilities and value of Power BI solutions.

5. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

• Document data models, report specifications, and development processes to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.
• Create user guides and training materials to enable self-service analytics for end-users.

Essential Skills:

• Extensive knowledge and expertise in Power BI Desktop, including advanced data modelling, DAX, and Power Query.
• Proven experience in designing and developing complex dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
• Strong understanding of data modelling concepts and best practices.
• Proficiency in SQL for data retrieval and manipulation. Experience with writing and optimizing SQL queries is must.
• Solid understanding of data governance and security principles within Power BI.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into effective visualizations.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, particularly in the context of data storage, processing, and integration with Power BI.
• Familiarity with other BI tools like Tableau, QlikView, or Looker, which can provide a broader perspective on data visualization and reporting techniques.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience in designing and implementing data warehouses to support robust data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Power BI development and data visualization
