Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Data Modeling: Design and develop data models using Power BI Desktop, ensuring that data structures are optimized for performance and business requirements.
- Report Development: Create visually appealing and interactive reports and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
- DAX (Data Analysis Expressions): Use DAX to create calculated columns, measures, and aggregations for reports.
- Power Query (M Language): Transform and cleanse data using Power Query for better usability.
- Optimization: Ensure reports are optimized for performance, such as reducing load time and handling large datasets efficiently.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work with business analysts and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and ensure the reports meet business needs.
- ETL Processes: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Power BI datasets.
- Data Integration: Work with databases, APIs, or cloud services to integrate external data into Power BI.
- Data Warehouse Management: Support the development and maintenance of data warehouses and staging areas for Power BI reporting.
- Automation: Automate data extraction and transformation processes to ensure the data is up-to-date and accurate.
- Data Quality: Ensure that data used in Power BI reports is accurate, complete, and consistent.
- Metadata Management: Maintain metadata and documentation for data sources, transformations, and calculations used within Power BI.
- Data Governance: Define and enforce policies for data usage, including ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
- Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with data engineers and analysts to ensure that the data model and reports are well-defined, standardized, and aligned with business needs.
- Defect Fixing and performing root cause analysis
