Job Description
SOC Analyst JD:
Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications required:
The ideal candidate will have atleast 3-4 years hands-on experience in security monitoring, incident response, and threat analysis. As a SOC Analyst, you will be responsible for detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents while helping to maintain and enhance our security posture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incident Detection and Response: Monitor security alerts and notifications from various sources (SIEM, IDS/IPS, etc.) to identify potential security incidents. Analyze and respond to security incidents, escalating as necessary.
- Threat Analysis: Perform initial triage of security events, conduct thorough investigations, and provide detailed analysis to identify the root cause and impact of security incidents.
- Security Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze security systems and logs to detect anomalous activity. Maintain and update SOC tools and systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Incident Documentation: Document incident details, actions taken, and lessons learned. Maintain accurate records and generate incident reports for management review.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT and security teams to ensure a coordinated response to security incidents. Participate in security-related projects and initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Assist in the development and enhancement of incident response procedures and security policies. Stay current with industry trends and emerging threats to continuously improve SOC processes.
Qualifications required:
The ideal candidate will have atleast 3-4 years hands-on experience in security monitoring, incident response, and threat analysis. As a SOC Analyst, you will be responsible for detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents while helping to maintain and enhance our security posture.
- Experienced in Microsoft Defender EDR tool and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Hands on experience in log analysis using Splunk .
- KQL and SPL experience is highly desired.
- Good knowledge on threat hunting for various use cases.
- Strong understanding of common attack vectors, security protocols, and threat landscape. Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and operating systems.
- Proficiency with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and anti-virus solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
