Surgeon

Surgeon plays a pivotal role in providing outstanding eye care services in Infigo Eye Care Hospital. This specialized position requires a dedicated professional who not only possesses expert surgical skills but also shows compassion and understanding towards patients. The consultant will focus on his field of speciality and other ocular conditions while utilizing advanced medical techniques and technologies. As a critical member of the healthcare team, the Surgeon is responsible for enhancing patient outcomes through precise diagnoses, effective treatment plans, and thorough follow-up care. The role demands a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation to new advancements in ophthalmological practices. This position significantly impacts patient satisfaction and quality of life, thus shaping the reputation of the organization within the community. He / She is responsible to patient & Surgical Audit Committee.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose ocular diseases.
• Perform phacoemulsification cataract surgeries or surgeries of his speciality with precision and skill.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on diagnostic findings.
• Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions as necessary.
• Monitor post-operative recovery and address any complications.
• Educate patients and their families about eye health and surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with other colleagues & professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records of patient evaluations and treatments.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in ophthalmology and surgical techniques.
• Participate in research and clinical trials to improve patient outcomes.
• Engage in community outreach programs to promote eye health awareness.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior medical staff and residents.
• Attend relevant professional workshops and conferences for continued education.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols during procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic imaging and other technological tools in patient assessments.

Required Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Specialization in Ophthalmology (MS, DNB, Fellowship or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical practice.
• Proven expertise in phacoemulsification and cataract surgery or surgeries of his speciality.
• Valid medical license to practice in Maharashtra.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in ophthalmology.
• Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
• Proficient in using advanced surgical instruments and technology.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Willingness to engage in community service and outreach initiatives.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
