Sr. Engineer - NPD

Role & responsibilities

• Planning and monitoring all new part development projects and completion of the same within target date.
• Achieving the process design input targets, like Process Capability, Productivity, rejection PPM, etc., before handing over the new part to production.

• Proper identification and storage of all Moulds & hose mandrels including Customer property.
• Tool life prediction and timely planning for replacement of the same.
• Maintaining necessary spares for Moulds.
• Design and drafting of all new Moulds, Mandrels, Extrusion die & pins, and receiving fixtures.
• Preparation of detailed tool (project) planning and follow up of the same
• Coordinating with production team during trial production.
• Inspection and submitting samples for customer approval.
• Follow up with customer for sample approval.
• Updating under development master list
• Preparation of PPAP/APQP documents for new product development (Automotive customer parts only) by taking input from CFT meeting.
• Carrying out PPAP Audit / co-ordination with customer during PPAP Audit.
• Updating PPAP documents through customer portal, based on Engineering/process change approval.
• Assisting QA/Purchase for new supplier selection by carrying out supplier audit.
• Maintaining PPAP document up to date.
• Periodic review of FMEA based on actual occurrence /detection / RPN Target.
• Inspection and submitting Hose samples for customer approval.
• Inspection of Export moulded parts and packing of the same.
• Preparation of inspection reports of Hose parts for both samples & regular parts.
• Maintaining PPAP records of Hose parts.
• Uploading of inspection reports in VECV portal
• Follow-up of samples from production
• Co-ordinate for IPC closure
