Job Description

Head - HR

Location: Mumbai
Reporting to: Company Founders
Industry: Quick-Service Restaurant | Candidates from QSR background preferred


Role Overview

The Head HR will play a critical leadership role in driving the People strategy of the organization. This critical role will be responsible for building and implementing the HR department from the ground up, ensuring that our people strategies align with our business objectives and foster a high-performing and engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities

HR Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies that support the company's overall business goals and objectives.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and market research to identify and implement best-in-class HR practices.
  • Develop and maintain an employee handbook and ensure compliance with all relevant labour laws and regulations.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:

  • Lead the recruitment and selection process, including job analysis, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract and hire top talent.
  • Create a positive and engaging onboarding experience for all new hires.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement and well-being.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
  • Conduct employee surveys and implement action plans to address employee feedback and improve engagement.

Performance Management & Development:

  • Develop and implement performance management systems, including performance reviews, goal setting, and employee development plans.
  • Oversee employee training and development programs to enhance skills and competencies.
  • Manage employee compensation and benefits programs, including salary administration, bonus plans, and insurance.

HR Operations & Administration:

  • Manage all HR administrative functions, including payroll processing, employee records management, and data entry.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Oversee HR technology and systems, including HRIS and ATS.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws and regulations, including safety and health regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate HR-related risks, including legal and reputational risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, with a strong preference for experience in building and leading HR functions from scratch preferably in a startup or QSR/ Retail/ F&B industry.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and programs.
  • Strong knowledge of labour laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and coaching skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a high-growth or startup environment.
  • Experience with international HR practices.
