About the role

Peepul is looking for Senior HR Specialist to help build a strong foundation for our future growth and ambitious scale plans. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Head of HR , the Senior HR Specialist will take ownership of the end-to-end HR agenda, driving initiatives in people strategy, talent management, leadership development, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.

This is a high-visibility role that requires deep expertise in organizational transformation, culture-building, and people management to enhance leadership effectiveness and strengthen Peepulorganizational culture, setting the stage for continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Strategic Leadership :

Contribute to the strategic direction of Peepul, ensuring the HR strategy is fully aligned with our organizational vision and growth plans.

To build strong working relationships with all senior leaders within Peepul, developing a deep understanding of the organisationmission and aligning its principles and practices across countries.

To work effectively with Peepulboard members, ensuring regular and accurate reporting on organisational performance.

To provide strategic counsel to the Chief Executive Officer and other Directors on program management, execution, and overall organizational priorities

Organizational Culture & Transformation:

Lead the charge in cultural transformation, working to build a high-performance, values-driven culture that fosters accountability, collaboration, and growth.

Partner with senior leadership to identify and address culture gaps and leadership challenges, implementing targeted initiatives to strengthen the organizationability to manage change and growth.

Drive initiatives around leadership development, supporting senior leaders in creating a culture of empowerment, transparency, and inclusive leadership.

Talent Strategy & Management:

Lead and oversee all HR functions, including but not limited to talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, learning & development, performance management, and talent retention strategies.

Drive initiatives for employee engagement, organizational development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Leverage HR analytics to make data-driven decisions and continuously enhance the employee experience, ensuring Peepul attracts, develops, and retains top talent.

Develop organisational processes and policies that are in line with best practices of the sector

Other tasks and responsibilities

Ensure efficient and effective service delivery across programs by developing systems that balance central operations with school autonomy, driving cost-efficiency, and fostering strong team collaboration.

Provide leadership and management of Peepulcentral operational functions (HR, IT, Facilities, Governance), ensuring the development of effective systems, high-performing teams, and seamless cross-functional collaboration to support the network of schools and educational initiatives.

Qualifications and Role Requirements:

At Peepul, we seek talented professionals passionate about driving educational transformation and making a positive impact. We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and meet the role requirements:

Educational Background : Masters degree in business administration, Human Resources or related discipline.

Work Experience : 8-10 years of experience in Human Resources, ideally in the development sector or similarly dynamic environments. At least 2 years in a leadership role with hands-on experience managing the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to retention. Strong background in HR strategy development and execution, with the ability to balance both strategic and operational leadership.

Other Skills : Exceptional problem-solving and prioritization abilities. Proven capacity to manage complex HR functions while supporting organizational goals. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and organizational tools (e.g., MS Teams, Outlook, OneDrive). Ability to foster collaboration and inspire high-performing teams.

Language Proficiency : Fluency in both English and Hindi is essential for this role.
