Job Title: Practice Head
Location: Bangalore, India
Job Type: Full-Time
Overview:
A seasoned and dynamic Practice Head shall be leading our consulting practice in Bangalore, with some oversight in Delhi. This role involves managing our services which includes business setup, startup support, accounting, tax, finance, legal, and corporate secretarial services. The Practice Head will be pivotal in driving strategic direction, managing client relationships, leading the local team, and spearheading business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Expertise:
1.1. Implementation/review of statutory compliance (GST, TDS, Labour laws etc.) and computation of Advance Tax, GST & other statutory liabilities on periodic basis.
1.2. Advising on critical Direct and Indirect tax matters.
1.3. Technical and practical knowledge of various areas of finance including taxation and Companies Act compliance.
1.4. Ability to handle complex tax audits, filing of returns, department correspondence and litigation matters.
1.5. Well versed in preparation of financial statements - Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash flow statements as per IGAAP, INDAS, prepare and consolidate financial statement of group at global level, Process Audit, Internal audit, Statutory Audit and Tax Audit and Conducting audits under various statutes (Statutory, Internal, Forensics, Tax) along-with due diligence and compliance health checks.
1.6. Oversee and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and policies. Testing the internal process controls and developing internal audit plans by utilizing the latest technology and leading practices.
1.7. Drafting business models, sophisticated Financial models, projections and doing business valuation.
1.8. Designing and implementing solutions to identify, assess and improve risk management capabilities.
1.9. Review and approve financial statements, audit reports, and tax filings.
2. Business Development & Client Management:
2.1. Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the practice, including new client acquisition and service expansion.
2.2. Lead business development initiatives in Bangalore and collaborate with the marketing team to increase market share.
2.3. Actively participate and represent the firm in local networking, industry events, and community engagements to enhance the firm's visibility.
2.4. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring their needs are met with exceptional service.
2.5. Handling and managing clients across various levels i.e. MSME(s), MNC(s), corporate houses and start-ups.
2.6. Provide strategic financial advice, including tax planning, auditing, and compliance services.
2.7. Maintain and grow client relationships in Bangalore, ensuring high satisfaction and service quality.
2.8. Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the Bangalore region.
3. Team Leadership:
3.1. Lead, mentor, and manage the Bangalore team. Foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
3.2. Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management for the local staff.
4. Strategic Leadership:
4.1. Develop and implement strategic plans for the Bangalore practice, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives.
4.2. Drive the firm's vision particularly for Bangalore markets, with strategic input for selected Delhi operations.
5. Operational Management:
5.1. Ensure compliance with all local regulations pertinent to our service lines in Bangalore.
5.2. Oversee the quality control of services delivered in Bangalore, maintaining firm standards.
6. Inter-Office Coordination:
Work with Delhi office heads to ensure synergy in operations and strategy where applicable.
Educational qualification:
Chartered Accountant
Experience:
- More than 8 years in a leadership role within consulting or professional services, with deep experience in business setup, legal, or financial advisory.
- Proven track record in business development, particularly in Bangalore or similar markets.
Skills:
- Excellent Communication: Capable of articulating complex concepts clearly and persuasively to a diverse audience.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in business analysis, project management, and compliance issues.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in managing operations or teams across multiple cities.
- Knowledge of Bangalore's business environment and emerging trends.
