Kafka Administrator

Job Details:

We are seeking a highly skilled Kafka Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing Kafka clusters, integrating middleware tools, and ensuring the efficient and secure flow of data within our ecosystem. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data workflows, perform data migration, and ensure high availability and performance of Kafka systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cluster Management:
• Install, configure, and maintain Kafka clusters to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance.
• Perform regular updates and patches to Kafka components, maintaining system stability and security.
• Manage Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, and replication to ensure seamless data streaming.
• Middleware Integration:
• Work with middleware tools like Apache Camel and NiFi to facilitate real-time data streaming and transformation across various systems.
• Integrate Kafka with other enterprise tools and applications for efficient data flow and synchronization.
• Data Migration:
• Lead efforts to migrate legacy data systems and applications to Kafka, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure a smooth transition of data pipelines to Kafka-based architecture.
• Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
• Implement and maintain monitoring solutions for Kafka clusters, identifying performance bottlenecks and optimizing system configurations.
• Analyze metrics and logs to troubleshoot issues and enhance system performance, availability, and reliability.
• Security Management:
• Establish and enforce security protocols to safeguard sensitive data within the Kafka ecosystem.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms for secure data streaming.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with development teams, data engineers, and architects to integrate Kafka with applications and data workflows.
• Provide guidance and expertise on best practices for designing and optimizing Kafka-based solutions.
• Documentation:
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for Kafka cluster configurations, system procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
• Ensure that documentation is up to date and accessible for team members and stakeholders.
