Support - Projects Execution (Pharmaceuticals)

Role & responsibilities

Responsible for leading the execution of projects of assigned Sub-Segments and undertake execution of the project within schedule and budget and ensuring compliance with all applicable quality, performance and statutory parameters

1. Develop a robust project execution strategy and implement the same across projects in the assigned sub-segment
2. Formulate of guidelines for overall pricing and positioning strategy for each project
3. Development of strategy to build and grow key customer accounts profitably. Formulate annual manpower and cost budget
4. Monitor adherence to the budget and take corrective action in case of any deviations
5. Cost optimization in the activities of the section
6. Oversee execution and effective control of projects for the assigned sub-segment in alignment with customer requirements and project execution strategy
7. Provide inputs for viability of projects basis resource requirement and estimated costs
8. Lead and participate in discussions on technical issues and bidding / tendering phase and also during execution
9. Review the P & IDs / Layouts as submitted by Sales and Marketing team and offer suggestions/ comments to sales and marketing team prior to bidding
10. Lead and participate in the preparation, Submission and approval from client for validation documents for pharmaceutical and biotech Projects i.e. Process philosophy, Data Sheets, Design Qualification, Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification and Performance Qualification, etc. Understanding of process of Fermentation, Bioreactors, Process vessels
11. Review P & IDs, PFDs and GA drawings; review and approval from client. Review and obtain approval from client. Process / operation Logic and execution knowledge of Process, CIP and SIP system. Should have knowledge of documentation for pharma projects
12. Lead and monitor the execution of projects and continuously guide the teams on project execution for high operational efficiency, quality and service delivery; highlight any discrepancies in timely manner
13. Liaise with the customer and production teams and identify the need and technical specification for any project specific components and ensure timely design and manufacturing of the same
14. Lead discussions with client on drawings, designs, processes or product to be used during project execution, get approval and ensure appropriate documentation of the same in compliance with applicable regulations and for internal record keeping
15. Ensure adherence to SOPs laid down and to project management standards for execution of Projects in terms of project planning, staffing, monitoring and closure; ensure effective implementation of the same across all projects
16. Coordinate with on-site Project QC & Safety team to ensure compliance to all safety norms, and highlight any discrepancies. Lead the preparation of MIS / financial statements to determine progress and status of the projects; ensure preparation of profit and loss accounts for projects
17. Present reports on the progress of the projects, decision points, challenges faced and deviation (if any) and provide suggestions for addressing the challenges faced
18. Handle matters pertaining to warranty and replacements of parts with the help of Support Installation & Services. Review the performance of empaneled vendors / contractors and present findings; assist in formulation of guidelines for contractors and vendors
19. Ensure compliance to all statutory requirements with respect to all vendors/contractors and their staff. Guide subordinates in reconciliation of accounts, collection of payments and maintenance of data records for the same
20. Liaising with government officials and authorities periodically to secure various approvals and licenses (right of erection etc.) for execution of projects
21. Ensure timely goal setting, monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to team members. Oversee training and capability building of employees of the department. Develop the capabilities to take on higher responsibilities while performing the given / in-charge responsibilities at various levels within the functions
