Engineer I (Quality Control - V&V)

Job Description:

IdeaForge Technology Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support our R&D team by focusing on the Verification and Validation (V&V) of products during the development cycle. This role involves ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software components meet quality and functional standards throughout the prototyping and development phases. The candidate will collaborate closely with design, testing, and production teams to validate product performance, identify potential issues early, and drive continuous improvement in product development.

1. Verification and Validation (V&V):

• Develop and execute V&V plans for prototypes, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic subsystems.
• Define and implement testing protocols to validate product functionality, performance, and reliability against design specifications.
• Collaborate with the design team to identify critical-to-quality parameters during the design phase.

2. Testing and Inspection:

• Perform rigorous testing and inspection of prototypes, subassemblies, and integrated systems.
• Use advanced measurement tools (e.g., callipers, micrometres, oscilloscopes, CMM) to verify component-level and system-level compliance.
• Validate firmware/software functionality in collaboration with the software development team.

3. Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions:

• Investigate failures during testing and prototyping to determine root causes.
• Work closely with the R&D team to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

4. Standards Compliance:

• Ensure prototypes meet aerospace and industry-specific standards (e.g., AS900 RevD, AS9102, AS9145).
• Support the preparation and execution of compliance tests for regulatory approvals, including DGQA, DGCA, and CEMILAC requirements.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

• Create detailed test reports, V&V documentation, and quality records for prototypes.
• Present findings and insights during design reviews, material review board (MRB) meetings, and monthly MIS updates.

6. Process Audits and Improvements:

• Conduct quality audits during prototype development to ensure adherence to R&D processes and standards.
• Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance V&V efficiency and product quality.

7. Collaboration:

• Act as a bridge between the design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure a seamless flow of information and feedback.
• Work with suppliers to validate the quality of prototype components and materials, issuing SCAR reports as needed.

8. Training and Development:

• Conduct training sessions for R&D and testing teams on V&V methodologies, tools, and best practices.

9. Innovation in Quality Practices:

• Introduce advanced V&V techniques, tools, and automation to enhance the accuracy and reliability of product validation processes.

1. Educational Background:

• Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering disciplines.

2. Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role with a focus on V&V, preferably in an aerospace, UAV, or R&D-intensive environment.

3. Technical Expertise:

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, avionics, electronics, and software development processes.
• Proficiency in using V&V tools and methodologies, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.

4. Standards and Compliance:

• Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS900 RevD, AS9102, AS9145) and regulatory requirements (e.g., DGQA, DGCA, CEMILAC).

5. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

• Ability to analyze test data, identify trends, and propose actionable solutions.

6. Tools and Systems:

• Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and ERP platforms.
• Hands-on experience with testing tools and equipment for both hardware and software validation.

7. Collaboration and Communication:

• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and present findings effectively.

8. Value-Added Experience:

• Familiarity with lean methods (e.g., Six Sigma, 5S) and their application in an R&D environment.
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping processes.
