Engineer I (Manufacturing Engineering)

Idea Forge Technology Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our R&D facility at Bangalore. The ideal candidate should have 4-5 years of work experience. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team to design innovative products and processes, improve manufacturing efficiency, and ensure high-quality production standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Design and Development:

a. Collaborate with the design and R&D teams to develop manufacturing processes for new UAV products.

b. Evaluate and refine product designs to enhance manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.

c. Create detailed engineering drawings, process documentation, and assembly instructions.

2. Process Optimization:

a. Preparation of PFMEA, Work instructions, Compliance matrix

b. Identify and implement improvements in manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.

c. Use lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma methodologies to minimize production downtime and defects.

d. Automate manufacturing workflows to align with the company s focus on precision and efficiency.

3. Quality Assurance:

a. Establish quality control standards and procedures to ensure products meet regulatory and internal quality benchmarks.

b. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.

c. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure adherence to ISO and AS9100 standards.

4. Production Support:

a. Monitor production processes and troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth operations.

b. Train production staff on new processes and equipment usage.

c. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment.

5. Safety and Compliance:

a. Ensure manufacturing practices comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

b. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safe and efficient manufacturing practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Technical Expertise:

a. Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

b. Strong knowledge in Configuration Management, Engineering Change Management, Product life cycle management.

c. Proficiency in CAD tools such as CREO, CATIA, or AutoCAD.

d. Knowledge of manufacturing processes like CNC machining, injection molding, and 3D printing.

2. Process Improvement Skills:

a. Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.

b. Familiarity with production planning, workflow design, and time-motion studies.

3. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

a. Strong analytical abilities to identify and resolve production challenges.

b. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting equipment and process issues.

4. Quality and Compliance Knowledge:

a. Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.

b. Understanding of UAV-specific regulatory requirements and compliance standards in India.

5. Communication and Collaboration:

a. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors.

b. Ability to train and mentor team members in technical and process-related aspects.

6. Additional Skills:

a. Familiarity with ERP systems for production planning and inventory management.

b. Knowledge of automation and robotics in manufacturing is a plus.
