Geriatric Nurse Job Description - Remote
We are searching for a reliable and compassionate geriatric care nurse to join our team. The nurse’s responsibilities include performing Tele patient visits and monitoring their conditions, suggesting tests, and writing reports for the licensing agencies and health care providers. You should be able to address all the caregivers’ concerns and make appropriate adjustments to the patients’ care management plan.
To be successful as a geriatric care nurse, you should be a nurturing individual who can handle a wide range of tasks without being squeamish. Outstanding candidates possess the mental strength and resilience to care for patients and are also able to provide emotional support to family members if required.
Please note that this is a remote position, and the end clients (residents) are based in United States. The nurse will be using audio and video calls to communicate with onsite caregivers and mobile doctors and nurses. The job will require availability from 9 pm IST to 3 am IST. Compensation package is competitive and will be dependent on experience.
Nurse’s direct responsibilities towards Residents:

• Managing resident’s care plans according to physicians’ instructions.
• Monitoring medication administrations and evaluating vitals remotely.
• Remotely inspecting wounds, bedsores, infections, changed dressings and any bruises. Suggesting care plan for alleviation and following up until resolution.
• Routinely managing family member’s concerns and addressing their questions.
• Educating caregivers and family on the aftercare or ongoing care of the patient.
• Providing suggestions for improved healthcare to healthcare providers and family members of the patient.
• Monitoring patient recovery and compiling reports for the healthcare providers.
• Keeping abreast of developments in healthcare and attending workshops and lectures as required.
• Collaborating with doctors and other healthcare professionals to develop improved diets and healthcare plans for patients.

Nurse’s administrative responsibilities:

• Onboarding a new resident including required paperwork (physician report, admission agreement, plan of care, resident appraisal, medication list procurement).
• Coaching the caregivers on new resident requirements or on change of care for existing residents.
• Everyday follow-up with the facility manager to understand the series of event throughout the day and communicating with the appropriate responsible party if required.
• Enforcing caregiver schedule so as to maintain care consistency within all facilities.
• Manage medical and non - medical supplies at each facility to ensure smooth operation.

Nurse education requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or similar.
• Additional courses in biology, anatomy, and science may be required.
• Relevant license and certification.
• A completed apprenticeship or experience in a similar role.
• Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to follow instructions but also to act independently if necessary.
• Ability to communication essential skills remotely through audio or video call.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Active listening skills and empathy.
• Physical and mental strength.
