Domain: Taxation, Chennai


Responsibility: Manager Indirect Taxation


Total Years of Experience: 5+ years


Roles & Responsibility:


1. Efficiently manage all indirect litigations GST, VAT, Central Excise & Service tax.


2. Representation before Tax officers & appellate authorities and resolve Litigations.


3. Analyse transactions for mitigation of tax risks & ideate tax planning.


4. Liaising with Tax authorities, provide clarifications/ explanations for the queries raised.


5. Review reply to notices/appeals at higher forum, check factual aspects, provide value

additions with respect to legality and finalize the submission.


6. Attend Hearings before tax authorities, explain HMI views on the issue and convince Department to drop the issue.


7. Assist to make strategies for reducing Tax Litigations pending at various forums.


8. Audit, Inquiry, Investigation by Tax authorities:


- Make strategies to handle the issues / concerns


- Liaison with authorities for smooth completion without major issue


- Review data/ details for submission to Tax authorities.


9. Visualize future issues/queries that may be raised by authorities and be prepared for all scenarios, questions along with counter measures.


10. Provide opinion w.r.t Tax implication on various business models/ requirements. Suggest alternative solutions for cost reduction and process improvement considering business requirements.


11. Support Dealers/Vendors for addressing their tax disputes with respective to transactions

with HMI.


12. Equip the stake holders with sufficient resource of knowledge and information so as to enable them to face and tackle the challenging and onerous task of meeting the tax obligations.


13. Review Tax master updation considering the overall business process and requirement.


14. Review of tax positions / transactions for potential tax disputes


15. Suggest countermeasures to avoid tax disputes


16. Ideate Tax planning measures to reduce cost & tax disputes and simplification of processes


17. Collate issues / concerns for representation before various Industry bodies for taking up with Government.


18. Develop Knowledge pool both on soft and technical skills


19. Work towards Center of Excellence


20. Disseminate knowledge on the tax changes / updates Analyze and report on the impact to the company


21. Aid decision makers with various Data Insights, crucial analytics data like Issue wise, Aging analysis, Division wise analysis etc.


22. Evaluate periodical MIS reports and enhance value additions.


23. Ensure reports are submitted to Management on time.
