Vice President - Python/Django (8-12 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.

- Guide and empower team members to achieve their full potential through mentorship, coaching, and performance reviews.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Marketing, Sales) to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.

- Drive a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and operational excellence within the engineering organization.

- Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance fintech solutions.

- Ensure adherence to best practices in software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.

- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure high-quality deliverables.

- Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and trends in the fintech industry.

- Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of all our fintech products and systems.

- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges.

- Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure system stability and proactively address issues.

- Drive initiatives to improve system performance, scalability, and efficiency.

- Align engineering initiatives with overall business goals and strategic objectives.

- Develop and execute long-term technology roadmaps to support future growth and innovation.

- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging technologies and trends.

- Proactively identify and address potential technology-related challenges and opportunities.

- Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Provide clear and concise reports on project progress, team performance, and key metrics.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors and customers.

Experience & Skills Required :

- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4+ years of experience in leadership roles managing cross-functional engineering teams.

- Strong expertise in Python, Django, React, AWS (including services like EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.), Kafka, and related technologies.

- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and scale engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively.

- Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

- Experience in building and scaling high-volume, high-transaction systems is a strong plus.

- Experience in the fintech or payments industry is highly preferred.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
