Job Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of SQL Server technologies and a proven track record of managing complex database environments. This role requires a proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to provide expert-level support for mission-critical SQL Server systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and integrity of our SQL Server databases, as well as contributing to strategic projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities :

- Core Database Administration : Provide comprehensive SQL Server database administration support, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

- High Availability and Disaster Recovery : Implement and manage high availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, replication, log shipping, and clustering. Develop and execute robust backup and recovery strategies.

- Performance Tuning and Optimization : Proactively monitor and optimize database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency. Utilize tools like SQL Profiler, Execution Plans, and Wait Statistics for in-depth analysis.

- Proactive Monitoring and Maintenance : Conduct regular health checks, disk space monitoring, fragmentation analysis, and identify and resolve blocking and deadlock issues.

- Incident Management : Support and adhere to the P0 and P1 escalation process for critical incidents, ensuring timely resolution and communication.

- Customer Health Checks : Provide customer health checks as required, ensuring the optimal performance and availability of their SQL Server environments.

Requirements :

Essential Experience :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- 6-8+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA.

- Expertise in all major versions of the SQL Server technology stack.

- Strong understanding of database design, development, and administration principles.

- Strong understanding of cloud implementations of SQL server.

- Strong understanding of Windows server operating systems.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential.

- Proficiency in English (speaking and writing).

- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Experience in developing and maintaining operational documentation.

- Experience with powershell scripting.
