Offsite Merchandising Analyst
Purpose of the role:
The Merchandising team at an E-Commerce company is responsible for compiling the business' online shop window using both qualitative and quantitative data to select the most appropriate deals to display on-site. By assessing which offerings should deliver the most revenue for the company in the medium to long term, the Merchandising team will provide insight to Sales teams and Management to meet changing consumer preferences and adapt to seasonal change. The Merchandiser uses data and commercial acumen to seek out incremental revenue opportunities and increase market-share.
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Optimise email performance to maximise profit potential
- Analyses location and tier performance and uses findings to make strategic decisions
- Makes exposure plans
- Works with generics team to plan in fixed slots
- Selects deals for web and app pushes
- Works with product team to perfect automated email orders
- Organises email orders by region and tier to ensure a good mix of deals are exposed to increase profit potential
- Owns Audience builder tool
- Works with CRM measure email performance using AB testing Provides feedback on deal gaps
- Monitors performance on personalization and makes suggestions
Team Management
- Manages Merchandising administrators and provides guidance and support.
- Leads, motivates, and manages a team effectively.
Technical Skills required:
- BCom/BBA/MBA or previous experience in a relevant sector
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools (e.g. excel)
- Ability to analyse data sets in order to arrive at logical conclusions
- Experience in tools such as SQL and Power Bi is useful but not essential
- Advanced excel, google / adobe analytics , salesforce, AWS quicksight
Soft Skills required:
- Ability to prioritise and multitask, responding to ad-hoc data requests whilst taking care of ongoing tasks / projects
