Engineering Manager -React.js

The IT Manager is responsible for providing hands-on leadership to their team while prioritizing the accomplishment of department goals. This role will perform full project and software development lifecycles, assist with complex operational/support concerns, and lead/mentor junior team members. She/he will be versed in business process management, product delivery concepts, development best practices, and Agile/Scrum methodologies. She/he will conduct or facilitate training sessions for the team members and new members in the team. They need to be hands on solving critical issues of our systems helping the team increase their understanding of process and problems with the software systems. Additionally, will set and / or adjust team norms and SLAs.

Essential Duties & Tasks

• Perform coding tasks, unit tests, and occasionally perform complex problem troubleshooting, root cause, and break/fix.
• They will mentor and direct the teams, managing work and balancing priorities between multiple customers.
• Developing technical documentation to guide future software development projects and establish efficiencies for development groups
• Analysis and estimation for scoping project efforts
• Lead solution, design, and execution of deliverables

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of server, applications, network, and systems
• Excellent communication skills are essential
• Expertise in React.js and Node.js
• Working knowledge of Next.js and Typescript
• Solid understanding of CSS and basic web skills
• Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with business and technology partners
• Excellent relationship-building skills and cultural awareness, along with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to effectively respond to questions from customers and provide timely resolutions to issues while effectively communicating status to management and customers
• Experienced in handling multiple projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with rules engines (e.g., Pega) is a plus
• Experience in the timeshare or hospitality industry is a plus.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Will direct and oversee the work of developer and analyst team members
• Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with companys plans and vision
• Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
• Provide hands-on guidance and technical expertise in React.js and Node.js
