SQL Developer/ ETL Developer

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

HICV is seeking to hire a skilled SQL Developer serve as a data developer on enterprise data projects related to ETL development, production support, data triage, SQL development, or other related data initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASK

1. Architect, design and develop data warehouse integrations using SSIS (Integration Services), Azure Data Factory (ADF), and other integration technologies. Create and maintain database objects by developing well-documented stored procedures and processes that deliver high quality and high-performing data solutions.

2. Collaborate with business partners to understand needs for enterprise reporting and analytics solutions. Document business requirements and convert into technical requirements for the development team. Partner with business stakeholders throughout the development and testing processes to ensure that the solutions meet their needs, code review all solutions before implementation.

3. Conduct proofs of concepts, story spikes and other analysis designed to improve the overall health of application and improve usability by our business partners. Evaluate alternate technologies that improve value of the reporting and analysis ecosystem.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field required. Equivalent professional experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.
• 4+years of experience with Microsoft data technologies: Azure Data Lake, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, SSIS
• Familiarity with cloud services, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Proficient in writing and troubleshooting T-SQL statements, stored procedures, views, and debugging processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  

PROFESSIONAL SKILLSET QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency in SQL coding, performance optimization, and query tuning.
• Knowledge of ETL concepts with some experience in ETL/ELT development using Azure Data Factory or SSIS.
• Develops and reviews complex Azure Data Factory pipelines for various reporting and data development projects.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling methodologies, tools and best practices
• Strong verbal and written communications skills to effectively share findings with stakeholders and IT associates.
• Candidate must have an open mind when it comes to approaching and be able to assess each situation separately.
