Job Title: Design and Calculation Engineer - Structural Design

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Design and Calculation Engineer with 4-5 years of expertise in structural design and analysis, specifically for a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in using STAAD software for structural analysis, performing structural and non-structural load calculations, and conducting Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Proficiency in AutoCAD and an understanding of manufacturing operations are critical to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze structural components for manufacturing facilities, equipment support systems, and other plant structures.
• Perform structural and non-structural load calculations for manufacturing-related designs, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
• Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess and validate designs for manufacturing processes.
• Utilize STAAD software for structural analysis and optimization of designs.
• Create detailed technical drawings and blueprints using AutoCAD, ensuring compatibility with manufacturing capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and engineering departments, to align designs with operational requirements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards specific to manufacturing, such as IS codes or other global standards.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and ease of assembly.
• Support the maintenance team with structural assessments and modifications for existing plant infrastructure.
• Prepare and present comprehensive design reports, calculation sheets, and feasibility studies.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 4 to 5 years of experience in structural design, particularly in a manufacturing or industrial setup.
• Software Proficiency:
• STAAD (mandatory)
• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Additional knowledge of FEA tools like ANSYS is a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of load calculations for manufacturing structures and equipment.
• Experience with structural design for manufacturing setups, including equipment foundations, overhead cranes, mezzanine floors, etc.
• Familiarity with plant layout and integration of structural designs into manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of materials commonly used in manufacturing, such as steel and reinforced concrete.
• Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Attention to detail and precision in designs and calculations.
