Assistant Supply Chain Manager

Job Title: Assistant Manager / Manager - SCM

Location: Thane

Objective:

This role is responsible for directing, managing and coordinating, purchase inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing and inventory control and distribution of products. Responsible for forecasting demands, analyzing inventory and troubleshooting the issues that can affect supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Responsibilities:

• Ensure higher customer satisfaction through effective, timely and quality maintained in the entire dispatch process
• Control costs to achieve and exceed targeted profits
• Ensure smooth flow of operations and coordination in the process from sourcing to selling

Operational Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Operations:

• Ensure smooth flow of operations and coordination in the process from sourcing to selling
• Design and implement policies for demand planning, sourcing, purchasing, receiving, inventory management and distribution
• Work closely with Sales production teams to plan and review operational efficiencies

Purchase Operations:

• Create Annual Plan for Purchase, based on Trend Analysis and Sales forecasts
• Oversee supply of materials as per the quality standards by determining re-order levels and lead times of materials. Facilitate make or buy decisions and contract management.

Cost management:

• Ensure cost reduction and standardization in prices offered by vendors
• Planning & budgeting for all the costs within the standard cost framework
  

Logistics & Distribution Operations:

• Define robust processes on inventory management, minimum & maximum stock availability, warehouse norms, dispatch processes, SLAs with transporters, delivery lead time, Insurance, OTIF etc.

Financial Responsibilities:

• Create, manage and achieve Supply Chain department's budget
• Forecast of expenses for Supply Chain department
• Responsible for cost control

Experience and Skills Set:

• Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes (Import-Transport-Warehousing-Export-Distribution)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Post Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar field
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and CHA.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualification:

• Degree in business, with a focus on supply chain management, inventory control, manufacturing, or materials management or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 8 years of supply chain and operations experience required
• Hands-on experience with logistics, inventory management, and procurement.
• Purchasing experience will be an asset
