HikeOn Technologies - Senior Software Test Engineer - Manual & Automation Testing (6-10 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer with 6-10 years of experience in manual and automation testing, including API testing.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and executing both manual and automated test cases using tools like Selenium and Playwright, as well as experience in API testing.

You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications by collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Manual Testing :

- Design, write, and execute detailed test cases for UI and backend applications.

- Identify, document, and track software defects using test management tools.

- Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing.

Automation Testing :

- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium and Playwright frameworks.

- Ensure automation scripts are integrated into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

- Increase automation coverage by implementing robust and reusable test frameworks.

API Testing :

- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or equivalent.

- Validate API functionality, performance, and security through automated test scripts.

- Design test cases for RESTful APIs and validate request/response data using JSON or XML.

Quality Assurance Process :

- Define and implement QA best practices and processes for manual and automated testing.

- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure test requirements are clear and achievable.

- Prepare and share test reports, metrics, and defect summaries with stakeholders.

Collaboration and Teamwork :

- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning and retrospectives.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve blockers and improve delivery timelines.

- Mentor junior QA team members in manual and automation testing practices.

Required Skills and Experience :

- Experience : 6-10 years in software testing, covering manual, automation, and API testing.

- Manual Testing : Expertise in test case creation, execution, and defect management.

Automation :

- Proficient in Selenium and Playwright frameworks.

- Strong coding skills in Java, JavaScript, or Python for test automation.

- API Testing: Hands-on experience with tools like Postman, Rest Assured, or SOAP UI.

Technical Skills :

- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.

- Knowledge of JSON, XML, and RESTful API concepts.

- Proficiency in using version control tools like Git.

- Soft Skills : Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.

- Work Setup : Ability and willingness to work from the office all 5 days a week.

Preferred Qualifications :

- ISTQB Certification or equivalent.

- Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter.

- Experience in testing complex systems such as ERP or e-commerce platforms.

- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum workflows.
