Design Engineer (Manager)- (DC) SOLAR GRID Projects

Position: DESIGN ENGINEER - SOLAR GRID PROJECTS

The Solar Design Engineer is responsible for providing innovative and comprehensive solution in design engineering for commercial and utility scale solar projects. Solar Engineer work in collaborative, team-based environment.

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

• Solar Resource assessment for the PV plant location.
• Energy Yield assessment using PVsyst software.
• Study of technical tenders for utility scale power projects and C&I customers.
• Preparation of Technical Specification for the equipment
• Preparation of plant array layout, single line diagrams, construction drawings and as built drawings for all solar projects.
• Performing design calculation for equipment sizing, cable sizing, earthing, lightning calculation etc.
• Preparation of Bill of material based on the project design and requirements.
• Technical Evaluation of latest PV Module technologies and vendors.
• Technical Evaluation of latest PV Inverter technologies and vendors.
• Work closely with BD and procurement team to offer best solution for each project.
• Work with internal Operation team throughout project development and implementation.
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors throughout project development and implementation.
• Visit job sites for feasibility study, project development, installation progress, punch-outs, etc.
• Attend customers, vendor meetings and presentations throughout project cycle.

Educational Qualifications and Work Experience:

• M. Tech./ B. Tech in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation.
• 8 years of experience in designing of Utility scale Solar projects.
• Expertise in PVsyst, AutoCAD, and electrical calculation tools
• Experience and knowledge on the design and construction process of utility scale and commercial solar PV.
• Knowledge and working experience of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Goggle Sketchup
