Job description
The Engineer Projects shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Prepare Macro plan after receipt of the work order covering all functional activities basic and detailed engineering, generation of MTOs, placement of orders, manufacturing and dispatch.
- Create Track and Monitor work orders being handled against its overall execution schedule and budgeted costs and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Carry out periodic progress review with design/ engg, procurement, production and logistics departments
- Monitor critical path of each job. Identify parallel activities that could be performed and prepare catch up plans.
- Submit monthly and periodic updates to customers
- Participate in kick-off meetings and review meetings with customers
- Communicate on technical and commercial issues with customer during execution
- Receive and review change orders
- Monitor changes in project scope affecting cost and delivery
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Ensure final documents are submitted within the time frame for closure of the contract
Project Accounting
- Track project milestones and deliverables.
- Manage project budget.
- Determine revenue recognition due to additions/ scope changes (cost and time implications)
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and monitor receivables for project.
- Follow up with clients when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
Financial Management
- Understand P/L and cost-to-completion projections and make decisions accordingly.
- Understand pricing model and billing procedures.
- Forecasts revenue (Quarterly, Half Yearly and Yearly), profitability, margins and shop utilization.
- Assure project legal documents are completed and signed.
Communication
- Hold regular inter department status review meetings effectively
- Keep all departments informed of changes in scope and general developments at customer’s ends.
- Submission of all calculations, drawings and other documents to customer for approval. Expedite with customer for early approvals
Organizational responsibilities
- Build rapport with customers and carry out Company’s image building to look for opportunities above and beyond the current customers/ orders
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Comply with Company’s standard policies and procedures.
Qualification -
1. BE - Mechanical or Production. Diploma or graduate
2. Experience - 4 to 8 yrs
3. Must know MS projects
