Job Description
- Inventory Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the civil departments store, including inventory control, stock replenishment, and organization of materials and supplies.
- Procurement and Purchasing: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure construction materials, equipment, and tools required for ongoing projects. Ensure timely delivery and maintain accurate records of purchases.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of incoming materials to verify quality and compliance with specifications and standards. Reject or return defective items as necessary and communicate with suppliers regarding issues or discrepancies.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of inventory levels, stock movements, and procurement activities. Generate reports on stock availability, consumption trends, and inventory turnover for management review.
- Coordination with Project Teams: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to assess material requirements for upcoming projects and ensure timely availability of necessary resources.
- Storage and Warehousing: Implement efficient storage solutions to optimize space utilization and facilitate easy access to materials. Monitor environmental conditions to prevent damage or deterioration of stored items.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment within the store. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with established guidelines.
- Team Supervision: Provide leadership and guidance to store staff, including training, performance evaluation, and task assignment. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in store management, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prior experience in procurement and vendor management is advantageous.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the construction sector.
