Role & responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily laboratory operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
• Lead and mentor a team of lab technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, conducting regular inspections and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
• Coordinate with researchers, scientists, and other stakeholders to support ongoing experiments and research projects.
• Maintain inventory and procurement of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper functioning.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and experiments, implementing solutions and ensuring minimal disruption to research activities.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, procedures, and results, adhering to data integrity and confidentiality standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures.
• Monitor and manage budgetary constraints, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
• Stay updated with advances in laboratory techniques, technologies, and regulatory requirements relevant to the field.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in BSC MLT; Masters degree preferred.
• Proven experience (7-10 years) as a Lab Supervisor or similar role in a laboratory setting.
• Strong technical expertise and familiarity with laboratory procedures, equipment, and instrumentation.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is desirable.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
