JOB TITLE: Category Executive


BAND:

DEPARTMENT: Merchandising


REPORTING TO: DGM Category Management

LOCATION: Bengaluru/Bangalore


YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: Graduate/ Postgraduate /MBA


BUSINESS UNIT: Bengaluru/Bangalore

Role Summary


To develop and implement strategic & tactical plans for assigned categories within the framework of a disciplined category management business process to achieve companys financial goals and objectives, improve market share, customer satisfaction and productivity performance measures for the company.

Key Result Areas


  • Achieve category Sales, Margin, profit and income goals and objectives of assigned categories through monitoring trends within the market segments; developing strategies to grow the market share of assigned categories; and to plan strategies to counter competition.
  • Develop and implement a good inventory management process so that there is an optimum product mix that focuses on customers’ needs and the process achieves shrinkage reduction objective.
  • Develop and implement promotional plans that bring excitement and incremental sales to the stores in coordination with internal teams for execution.
  • Develop and implement placement and planogram strategies that improve category turnover and positively influence customer shopping behavior. Ensure assortment is relevant and category is well represented with new brands, products and trends.
  • Develop and implement a competitive pricing strategy that delivers value to our customers. Ensure competitive pricing by matching market offers, also get best-in-class promotions
  • Establish collaborative retailer/ partner relationships to maximize income/terms/discounts to improve sales and profitability of category.
  • To ensure Fill rate reports, reviews and discussions with brands and regional teams.
  • Monitoring of OOS at SKU and store level, coordinate with ordering team to ensure minimization. Initiate action on slow movers, non-movers, damaged & expired stocks and ensure execution of RTVs(return to vendors)
  • Compile Monthly Income billings / updates to achieve optimal Buying income performance. Coordinate with Regional teams and Finance team for timely reconciliation.
  • Coordination and planning with brands for MPL, promos and activations around new product launches, CRM initiatives, makeovers, festivals, events, etc.
  • Develop Monthly Category Analysis Report of the assigned categories
  • Work closely with the Regional Merchants/ Retail Operations-Area Managers to fully implement Category plans & space management plans in the Stores.
