The Head Mistress of the Secondary Segment (Grades 6 to 12) will be responsible for overseeing the academic, administrative, and operational management of the secondary school section. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and rigorous learning environment. The Head Mistress will work closely with teachers, students, parents, and the school leadership team to ensure that the academic goals and standards of the school are met while maintaining a focus on student development, discipline, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Academic Leadership:
- Develop and implement academic policies and procedures in line with the CBSE curriculum and school goals.
- Supervise and guide the teaching staff in curriculum planning, instructional practices, and classroom management.
- Ensure effective teaching and learning strategies to meet the diverse needs of students from grades 6 to 12.
2. Staff Management:
- Lead, manage, and mentor the teaching staff to foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing academic team.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss curriculum updates, student performance, and teaching strategies.
- Organize professional development and training programs for teachers to improve instructional practices and subject knowledge.
- Manage teacher performance through regular evaluations, feedback, and performance appraisals.
3. student Welfare and Discipline:
- Ensure a positive and disciplined learning environment that encourages student participation, motivation, and academic excellence.
- Coordinate and supervise student co-curricular activities, clubs, and events to promote holistic development.
- Address student concerns and resolve conflicts promptly in collaboration with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
4. Curriculum Development and Implementation:
- Oversee the development and periodic review of the curriculum for all subjects in Grades 6-12.
- Ensure the curriculum is comprehensive, inclusive, and aligned with CBSE standards.
- Organize extra-curricular and enrichment programs that support academic growth and student engagement.
5. Communication and Parental Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for parents regarding academic progress, student welfare, and school policies.
- Organize parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) and other forums to engage parents in their childs education.
- Keep parents informed about key school events, assessments, and their childs progress.
- 6. Administrative and Operational Management:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the secondary school, including timetabling, examinations, and classroom organization.
- Monitor the allocation and use of educational resources and facilities.
- Collaborate with the school leadership team to develop long-term strategic goals and initiatives for the secondary school.
- Oversee the implementation of school safety and security protocols in line with the overall school policy.
- 7. Examination and Evaluation:
- Oversee the planning, administration, and grading of internal and board examinations for Grades 6-12.
- Ensure compliance with CBSE examination guidelines and ensure students are prepared for board exams.
- Analyze results, provide feedback to students and staff, and develop strategies for improving performance.
- Education:
- Post Graduation in relevant field and B.ed / M.Ed
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 to 12 years years of teaching experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably as a Head of Department or in an administrative position in a CBSE-affiliated school.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of CBSE curriculum, policies, and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate, guide, and develop teaching staff.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle student and parent concerns effectively.
- Proficient in the use of technology for educational purposes, including learning management systems and virtual classrooms.
