DevOps Cost Analyst

Summary:

The HCL DevOps Cost Analyst will be responsible for several key functions around cloud costing including (1) producing cloud costing for cloud solution deployments, (2) develop and maintain pricing tools for new configurations and solutions developed, (3) validate costing against actuals, and (4) drive cost savings projects across the cloud infrastructure.

Experience:

Qualified candidate will have strong analytic skills, and be experienced in working with FinOps tools, and analytical tools like Excel. This candidate should be familiar with cloud costing models on at least one of the major public cloud providers.

Responsibilities:

1. Engage with Sales and Marketing teams to support solution costing for project proposals
2. Work with Product Management teams on pricing models and implement and maintain pricing tools to support these
3. On an ongoing basis, evaluate the accuracy of cost models and maintain the model accordingly.
4. Utilize FinOps tools to report on actual costs by project
5. Drive cost reduction efforts by reviewing cost saving recommendations and ensuring recommendations get applied.
6. Develop and optimize cost models for proposed cloud solutions
7. Regular reporting on cloud costing, savings, and cost models to management team.

Qualifications:

• Understands cloud costing models (for at least one major cloud provider)
• Excellent Excel / Google Sheets skills for analytics and cost models
• Experience working with FinOps tools
• Basic project management skills - should be able to drive change in a large organization
• Ability to report and present on cost savings measures
