Position Reports To: AVP - Nursing

RESEARCH (PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES)
  • Guide identified nurses/nurse educators at units to select, design, conduct, analyze & present evidence based nursing studies
  • Plan, Organize, Co-ordinate & Conduct weekly scientific nursing forums for presenting EBPs done at units
  • Identify & Replicate specific EBPs conducted at units at larger scale & translate the same as Research papers to be published in Indexed Journals
  • Participate in internal & external workshops, seminars & conferences as resource faculty
  • Identify nurses with research aptitude in the organization & groom & guide to write research articles, papers, presentations
  • Publish articles in international indexed journals - 1 per quarter
  • Oversee Evidence Based Practice (EBP) studies performed by nurses across units to assure completeness and accuracy adherence to organizational guidelines
  • Keep up to date with Internal Ethical Committee requirements and guidelines
  • Conduct classes on research methodology/processes, data analyses & presentation
  • Provide clinical and administrative nursing support and oversight for research studies based on scope of practice
  • Develop and manage budget for research study, and oversee resources including funds, personnel, and equipment as needed
  • Oversee and potentially administer medications and treatments per study protocol for out -patient research participants
  • Comply with institutional policies, standard operating procedures, and guidelines, and prepare and submit documentation as required by the study protocol, study sponsor, and regulatory authorities
TRAINING
  • Co-ordinate & Connect with the Nurse Educators across units to guide, handhold and groom them
  • Conduct monthly Nurse Educators meeting to discuss concerns and share ideas
  • Responsible for overall training and knowledge and skill upgradation of all nurses of the unit.
  • Ensures that the standardized induction schedule is shared to all units and happens for all the new joiners month on month.
  • Ensures that the tender care grading exams are conducted for every new joinee at the time of joining.
  • Ensures the preceptor development program happens regularly at the units to strengthen the mentors for proper hand-holding of mentees
  • Ensures that the Nursing Heads and Nursing Educators adhere to the set standard area-specific skill/ competency matrices to privilege the nurses within the set time frame post-induction.
  • Warrant that mandatory monthly unit trainings (CNE & OJT) are conducted at all units as per requirement and process for the same is diligently followed, including pretest, posttest & attendance capture
  • Maintain, Monitor & Track the monthly training link to ensure the units comply to the required training hours for all the nurses
  • Plan, Organize & conduct various fellowship training programs like Medical Oncology Nursing fellowship, Head & Neck Nursing fellowship as per policy
  • Be a faculty to handle various training sessions for the corporate run training programs
  • Validate data and analyze data received from units pertaining to training activities, tender care & grading exams, fellowship nominations, fellowship passed out candidates etc.
  • Ensure credentialing & privileging is done for all nurses at the time of joining
  • Develops and maintains clinical educational resources specialty training modules, oncology training modules, etc
  • Develops and introduces innovative and novel methods in T&D
  • Foster an environment that supports effective adult learning based on individual/units learning needs and requirements
  • Coordinate & work along with unit and corporate L&D to maintain high standards of training and innovative training pedagogies
  • Analyze data as and when required to identify gaps/strengths existing and present the same to relevant stakeholders to revise policies & processes
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the activities pertaining to the units allotted.
  • Guide, Support the nursing heads as and when required
  • Ensure seamless functioning and delivery of nursing care services of individual units
  • Collate, analyze and present data of units as and when required
  • Escalate concerns pertaining to nursing faced at unit and facilitate streamlining of process as per policy
  • Facilitate sharing of best practices between units and support and team building amongst units
  • Ensure and participate in the monthly staff meetings conducted
  • Ensure all the monthly trackers are maintained diligently by the unit nursing heads (licensure tracker, CNE tracker, Staff meeting minutes tracker etc)
  • Conduct periodic audits of units to identify gaps and evidence adherence to policies and protocols
  • Support units for various external audits & accreditation process - NABH, Nursing Excellence etc
  • Make unit visits as and when required
  • Participate in the weekly NMC connects and ensure units participate diligently
