Finance Controller (Deputy Manager - Costing)

Role & responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Assess and analyse multiple product wise costing parameters & validate them
• Product & state wise costing to be done every month
• Maintain SKU master database state wise
• Costing for new products, recipe changes, schemes and trade promotions
• Responsible for timely price increase through competition benchmarking, pricing elasticity and sales growth assessment
• Generate costing related MIS at a pre-agreed frequency
• Plan, organize and direct all the activities of the cost accounting function
• Manage day to day operations of the existing cost accounting function from management of current rates to monthly close and analysis
• Support the Project Cost Team in the development of a standard costing system
• Manage the transition from the existing cost environment to a new standard cost system
• Identify, hire and develop in-plant cost accountants
• Development and maintenance of standard costs
• Perform the monthly closing activities including preparation of the cost to operate statement along with supporting analysis
• Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to operations management
• Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers
• Define policies and procedures for all cost accounting activities

Education

(degree / diploma)

• CA / ICWA / Accounting or Finance with an emphasis in Costing & Budgeting. CPA is required

Experience

• around 8-10 years

Knowledge and Skills (Functional / Technical)

• Proven experience in driving process improvements.
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
• Ability to understand large amounts of data
• Ability to communicate with non-accounting professionals clearly and concisely
• Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
• Should be well versed with SAP Model
