Senior Wordpress Developer - Frontend Architecture (6-7 yrs)

Position Overview :

As a Senior WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly functional, scalable, and secure WordPress websites.

You will work on integrating advanced front-end technologies and backend services, creating custom WordPress themes and plugins, and ensuring robust performance, security, and scalability.

In this role, you'll also work closely with the design, content, and marketing teams to create engaging user experiences and implement features that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to client requirements.

- Create responsive, mobile-first websites optimized for performance across all devices and browsers.

- Build custom post types, taxonomies, and advanced custom fields (ACF) to deliver dynamic, content-driven websites.

- Integrate third-party tools and services (e.g, CRM systems, marketing tools, APIs, etc.) into WordPress sites.

- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver new features and customizations according to specifications.

- Develop and optimize front-end components using ReactJS, NextJS, Frontity, or other modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.

- Build highly interactive and dynamic user interfaces that integrate seamlessly with WordPress backends.

- Customize Shopify and WooCommerce stores, including theme customization, plugin development, and third-party API integration.

- Implement SEO-friendly solutions to ensure websites are optimized for search engine ranking and visibility.

- Implement scalable and secure WordPress solutions on cloud deployment platforms such as AWS or Azure.

- Utilize cloud-based tools and services to enhance site performance, security, and uptime.

- Monitor site performance, ensuring low latency and high availability, while troubleshooting any potential issues.

- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level developers, guiding them through best practices and complex development tasks.

- Lead the development of new features, ensuring best practices in code quality, security, and performance.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and QA teams to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.

- Review code written by team members and conduct technical audits to ensure high-quality deliverables.

- Optimize WordPress sites for maximum speed and scalability by applying performance best practices, such as minimizing HTTP requests, optimizing images, and utilizing caching.

- Conduct regular performance audits and implement improvements to ensure that websites load quickly and provide an excellent user experience.

- Troubleshoot and debug any issues related to performance, security, and functionality.

- Act as a technical point of contact during client meetings, providing project status updates, troubleshooting advice, and recommendations for improvements.

- Participate in project planning and scoping, providing input on timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.

- Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations.

- Implement security best practices, including secure coding techniques, regular vulnerability assessments, and timely updates to WordPress core, themes, and plugins.

- Stay updated on the latest trends in WordPress development, security vulnerabilities, and industry standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Experience :

- 5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development, including extensive experience in customizing themes and plugins.

- Hands-on experience with ReactJS, NextJS, or Frontity, building modern front-end architectures.

- Experience working with Shopify and WooCommerce, customizing themes and integrating e-commerce solutions.

- Proven experience developing and maintaining high-performance, responsive websites.

Technical Skills :

- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP (for WordPress development).

- Expertise in working with modern JavaScript frameworks like ReactJS, NextJS, or similar.

- Solid understanding of REST APIs and experience integrating APIs with WordPress websites.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for hosting and deploying WordPress sites.

- Knowledge of SEO best practices, ensuring sites are optimized for both user experience and search engines.

- Familiarity with Git, version control systems, and code review processes.

- Experience working with MySQL and optimizing database queries for performance.

- Knowledge of Webpack, Babel, and other modern JavaScript build tools and processes.
