About the Company
This opportunity is with Handelnine Global, an e-commerce company that owns and operates 15+ online retail brands in over 60 countries. The company is profitable, self-funded and has exhibited strong quarter-on-quarter growth in the last 3 years. The company has offices in India as well as the USA and serves global markets including the UK, USA, Europe, Australia, Middle East and Southeast, Asia. Handelnine Global is currently in a phase of rapid growth with new brands and markets being launched every quarter.
Role and Responsibilities
Work as a part of the Growth Team, reporting directly to the Growth Head.
Analyse data related to market conditions, consumer demographics, purchasing patterns and industry trends, which would help the company take strategic decisions related to launching new products and entering new markets.
Conduct secondary market research using digital tools like Think with Google (Market Finder, Trends), Statista and various others to identify consumer demand around specific product niches as well as general trends in online buying habits across the globe.
Study the competition, including product pricing strategies, to uncover growth opportunities.
Monitor and forecast trends in ecommerce sales for various product categories, while being able to distinguish between short-lived fads and growing customer intent.
Periodically analyse internal business data to share learnings about our consumers and their buying habits, as well as benchmarking the performance of our marketing efforts, operational efficiencies and even call center performance, against industry standards.
Analyse seasonal trends across all the countries that we sell to, and help the marketing team to introduce promotional campaigns at the right time.
Interpret and analyse available data, as well as qualitative observations, across a variety of business needs, and convert it to digestible information or visual representations that can be presented to key stakeholders.
If required, collaborate with data scientists and engineers to update our reporting dashboards or even create fresh ones.
Desired Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is someone with 4-7 years of experience in digital analytics, market research or similar, preferably with a global exposure. Educational background in Statistics, Engineering or Business is suitable to be able to handle this role.
The candidate should be comfortable working with data on a daily basis and would be expected to have strong analytical abilities as well as expertise in commonly used statistical analysis techniques.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable with Advanced Excel. It is desirable to have prior experience with marketing analytics tools like Google Analytics or similar.
The candidate should be thorough in all aspects of research as well as understand the correct usage of data visualisation charts, depending on the nature of data being presented.
The candidate should understand common marketing concepts and business fundamentals. Familiarity with the global ecommerce industry is a huge advantage.
Candidates who have worked in fast-paced environments like those of startups or new and growing business divisions would be preferred.
The candidate should share our mindset of working with incremental improvements and must be open to learn new things quickly. We are looking for someone who can work independently with a result-focus and is not afraid to experiment within accountability.
The candidate should be solution-oriented with the ability to think clearly, logically and even laterally, when presented with a problem. We need someone who can communicate freely and fluently and can work efficiently in an environment of remote team members.
