Control Panel Design Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW :

Responsible for developing Electrical Wiring diagram for both Oil cooled & Dry type transformers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Continuously develop and improve product designs by tracking market prices and material costs and competitor offerings.
• Through feedback from manufacturing and improve designs to enhance productivity in HPS and Vendor works.
• Develop new designs in line with growth plans.
• Assist marketing department in preparation of tender documents
• Preparation of detailed designs including manufacturing drawings and bill of quantities for control wiring design.
• Preparation of purchase specifications and assistance to Purchase Department in Vendors development and evaluations.
• Technical assistance to the production and procurement departments during manufacturing.
• Investigating manufacturing and site feedbacks, including warranty complaints, Root cause analysis, problem solving and continuous improvement of existing designs based on manufacturing or site feedbacks.
• Answer customer queries during tendering stage, design finalization and FAT.
• Preparation of quality assurance plans.
• Assist production and quality departments in preparation of work instructions QC documents, especially for new ratings/ voltage class.

Specific Objectives and Performance measurement criteria:

• Timely submission of inputs to marketing department.
• Thoroughly check of Control circuits for RTCC & OLTC from sub supplier to meet the customer requirements.
• Assisting of HPS installation and commissioning team at site related to RTCC, OLTC & transformer controls.
• Customer satisfaction indices including reduction in complaints, acceptance during factory inspections.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES :

• Prepare MIS for the respective tasks on monthly based.
• Ensure all specifications and documentations are as per ISO standards.
• Preparation and submission of related documents to Procurement & Production.
• Reviewing and restricting of Design based on Customer & HPS-India technical specifications.
• Technical discussions with customers whenever required internally or externally.
• New techniques to achieve better performance and cost.

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT :

• Reports to Dy. General Manager.
• Closely coordinates company executive involvement with the partners as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES & WORK CONDITIONS:

• Bachelor Degree (BE/B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering preferable.
• Experience in transformers industry.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years junior level and 5 to 10+ years mid-level in related field / transformer industry.
• Commanding, credibility, integrity, discretion, diplomacy, flexibility, emotional intelligence.
• Familiarity with Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, specifically the design and building Electrical wiring diagram for both Oil & Dry-type transformers (Power & Distribution) & special transformers.
• Basic and fundamentals of electrical engineering subject is mandatory.
• Excellent oral & written communication skills, interpersonal and motivational skills.
• Effective leadership skills, with strong focus on operations and business processes.
• Effective attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills.
• Ability to analyze and make recommendations, provide guidance to effectively bring projects to completion.
• Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
• Depth of knowledge to understand global scenario in line with HPS stand.
• Should have good knowledge on MS office (Word, Excel with Macros, Access, Viso, Outlook) to analyze using spreadsheets & make presentations, preferably any ERP and AutoCAD.
• Creative and innovative thinking with fresh approaches.
• Willing to learn and adopt to changes.
• Local language is a must along with English and Hindi.
• Positive attitude towards work and ability to handle pressure.
• The Person will be based in our office in India.
