Job Role/Job Description:

The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of bookkeeping and accounting tasks, ensuring that financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with applicable regulations. Specific duties include recording transactions, verifying receipts and payments, reconciling taxes, and managing accounts payable/receivable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Recording: Record income, expenses, and other financial transactions accurately, posting them to various accounts.
  • Receipt and Payment Verification: Verify receipts and payments from the bank, matching them to the corresponding invoices and bills.
  • Tax Reconciliation: Reconcile sales taxes and payroll taxes at the end of each month, ensuring all taxes are properly accounted for.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable Management: Perform monthly activities related to accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
  • Client Assistance: Assist junior clients by addressing queries, reviewing their work, and following up on the status of their tasks.
  • Client Review and Communication: Regularly review clients' work and ensure changes are communicated to junior staff, ensuring all errors are corrected before sending final reports to the onshore team.
  • Team Meetings: Participate in weekly/bi-weekly meetings with the onshore team to discuss progress, updates, and challenges.
  • Bookkeeping and Financial Statement Review: Keep the books updated regularly and review financial statements at the end of each month.
  • Year-End Adjustments: Review financial statements and general ledger reports at the end of the financial year, making necessary year-end adjustment journal entries.
  • Client Tracker and Timesheet Management: Maintain the client tracker with status updates and ensure timesheets are updated regularly.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum Experience: At least 4 years of experience in US bookkeeping for small business clients.
  • Required Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping procedures, best practices, and relevant terminology.
  • Payroll Taxes: Understanding of US payroll taxes.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
    • Knowledge of Xero software is a plus.

Skill Set Required:

  • Must Have:
    • In-depth accounting knowledge.
    • Good communication skills.
    • At least 4 years of US bookkeeping experience.
    • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Good to Have:
    • Xero software knowledge/experience.

Qualifications:

  • Must Have:
    • (B.Com), MBA, M.Com, or CA-IPCC.
    • 4-5 years of relevant experience.
