Technical Writer

Job Overview

We are looking for a Technical Writer to develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for our ERPNext implementation, company policies, SOPs, and other business processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with ERPNext developers, process analysts, and stakeholders to create clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation.

Key Responsibilities

ERPNext Documentation:

• Create and maintain user manuals, admin guides, and system documentation for our custom ERPNext implementation.
• Develop technical documentation for custom modules, workflows, and APIs.
• Document troubleshooting guides and FAQs to assist users in resolving common ERP issues.
• Work with developers to ensure proper version control and updates for ERP documentation.

Business Policies & SOPs:

• Develop and standardize company policies, SOPs, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with process analysts to document workflows for operations, finance, HR, supply chain, and manufacturing.
• Ensure clarity and consistency in internal policies to streamline business operations.

General & Technical Content Writing:

• Prepare training materials, onboarding guides, and internal knowledge base content.
• Write clear, concise, and engaging technical content for internal and external stakeholders.
• Work with designers and developers to incorporate visuals, screenshots, and diagrams into documentation.

Collaboration & Process Improvement:

• Work closely with ERPNext developers, testers, process analysts, and data analysts to gather insights and ensure accurate documentation.
• Continuously improve and optimize documentation processes using feedback from users and stakeholders.
• Maintain an organized repository of all technical and policy-related documents.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, English, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably for ERP systems (ERPNext preferred).
• Strong understanding of ERP workflows, business processes, and software documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Markdown, Google Docs, Confluence, Notion, or similar documentation tools.
• Basic understanding of SQL, APIs, and system architecture is a plus.
• Experience with process mapping tools (Lucidchart, Visio, Draw.io, etc.) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in documenting Frappe/ERPNext-based applications.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Git, or version control systems.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing, jewelry, or retail industry is an added advantage.
