Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Generate Technology Transfer Data from R & D Kilo Lab Scale, Pilot Plant scale for transferring technology to Commercial Plant.
  • In coordination with R&D, Planning for design of Experiments.
  • Organize studies to check the material compatibility, corrosion studies, waste estimation/Reduction & treatment study, solvent recovery, etc.
  • Suggest convert batch process into continuous process using a flow chemistry & co-ordinate with R&D for developing the continuous process.
  • Mapping suitable equipment's mapping, planning, process docket & agitation patterns etc. for seamless scaled up plant.
  • Prepare proposals for conducting trial and validation batches in Pilot Plant.
  • 7Drive Optimum utilization of all available resources, actively participate in problem solving/training programs and drive co-ordination & communication with in the team.
  • Arrange and conduct Process HAZOP and Risk Assessment.
  • Prepare Technology Transfer document after pilot plant trials.
  • Interacted with Process Engineering Team to finalize the scaled-up version of commercial plant.
  • Arrange and conduct trials at vendors shop for operations like filtration, extraction depending on the process requirement.
  • Assist ADL team in analytical method transfer to Plant.
  • Support commissioning of new plant.
  • Collect data required to make improvements and/or modifications.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot the process problems.
  • Ensure that equipment works to its specification and to appropriate capacities.
  • Provide information throughout the various phases of the project like proposal preparation, process engineering with regard to all aspects of Technology.
  • Develop methods for upgrading operational techniques.
  • Improve yield, efficiency and cost effectiveness of developed processes by introducing new technologies and continual improvement.
  • Train Process Engineers for the newly developed technology.
  • In co-ordination with R&D team, generate the engineering information required for the scale up of process to Pilot Plant scale and transferring technology to Commercial Plant.

  • Conduct HAZOP and Risk Assessment Studies.
  • Selection of appropriate equipment. Assist for preparing Detail Engineering Package with detail engineering contractor. Prepare CAPEX for the project.
  • Providing commissioning assistance and performance trials Prepare SOPs, troubleshooting, emergency start-up/shutdown procedures and Batch Manufacturing manuals.
  • Daily audit of plant performance. Analysis of deviations.
  • Working on root cause analysis of the problem.
  • Identify the possible process scheme required for upgradation of the plant. Improvement/enhancement in the productivity of the existing plant energy efficiency, material efficiency, by-product recoveries, emission reduction, reducing recurring failures & interruptions, increasing equipment life, manpower rationalization, improving safety, Energy Audit and Conservation, overall cost reduction etc.
  • Finding alternate technology to the new and/or existing product/process which will be environmental friendly and economically viable process.
  • Involving technical person is each assignment to train them and oversee their technical performance.
  • Improving the technical skills of engineers by arranging various training sessions by renowned engineering equipment/machinery suppliers. Making specific training material available.
  • Introducing newly available equipment design soft-wares and imparting training to the engineers.

Preferred candidate profile

Ability to work independently and as a team member; excellent interpersonal skills, communication, sound judgment, tact, discretion, organizational problem analysis and problem solving skills; highly motivated and self-directed. Stretchable and Flexible, Demonstrated ability to integrate the developed technology with commercial plant. Ability to assimilate and understand scientific and technological issues. Thorough understanding of process engineering and various chemical processes.
