Deputy General Manager - Electrical

Candidate should have : Hands on working experience on electrical systems in a chemical complex (Chlor-Alkali, Chloromethanes etc.) and thermal power plant. Potential candidate is expected to have worked for a chlor-alkali plant of capacity not less than 400 MT/Day, Thermal Power Plant having multiple STGs with rated capacity of 30 MW or above, coal fired AFBC boilers of rated capacity more than 100 TPH, CPP running in parallel with Grid at contract demand of not less than 70 MVA. Exposure to gas-based power plant is also desirable and will be considered as additional qualification.

Specific Technical Knowledge Required for the role:

• Generator operation in synchronization with Grid
• Grid Islanding and Load Shedding
• Parallel Operation of Transformers.
• PLC based power and load management system.
• Generators Excitation System and AVR
• Study of control circuit drawing and its trouble shooting.
• Electrical Protection System, Fault Level Study and Relay Co-ordination
• Electro Static Precipitators
• Rectifier transformers
• 66KV switchyard of capacity 100 MVA and above having,

1. SF6/Oil/Vacuum Ckt Breakers
2. HV Isolators.
3. Power Transformer of Rating not less than 40 MVA

• Operation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting of,

1. HV/LV Switchgear and Panels with ACB/VCB
2. Advanced Numerical Protection Relays
3. PLC based SCADA
4. Steam and Gas turbine driven Generators and protection system.
5. HT / LT Transformers.
6. VFDs, UPS & Battery charger.
7. LT DG Sets,
8. Electrical Heaters and Heat Tracings.

• Basics of electrical engineering with respect to qualification and years of experience.
• Computer applications for day-to-day report generation and maintenance records.
• SAP based material management, planning and maintenance.

Routine Functions:

• Improve safety awareness level of all the staff through training and auditing.
• Ensure compliance of various safety improvement guidelines and practices.
• Ensure PM schedule being followed to achieve Zero Break Down.
• Identifying areas of obstruction/breakdowns and taking steps to rectify the equipment through application of trouble shooting techniques.
• To run the respective plants / sections with maximum efficiency with zero breakdown without affecting the production.
• Planning & scheduling of preventive, proactive and corrective maintenance schedule.
• Providing technical direction to subordinates on fault finding diagnoses and repairs.
• Ensuring availability of all resources in time.
• Bill certification and compliance to audit observations.
• Ensure availability of adequate manpower, materials, spares, tools and test equipment guided by standard procedures
• To ensure compliance of safe working methods/practices & use of safety equipment.
• Review Compliance Status and take necessary action to mitigate any non-compliance as identified
