Role: Architect - Database

We are seeking an experienced Database Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of complex database architectures at Gravity ONE. As a Database Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping our data infrastructure and ensuring that our database systems are scalable, secure, and high-performing to support our AI-driven solutions and business objectives .

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance database architectures.
Develop strategies for database optimization, including performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
Design and implement robust backup, disaster recovery, and data retention strategies.
Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate databases seamlessly with other systems.
Provide technical leadership in database best practices, standards, and governance.
Mentor and guide junior database administrators and engineers.
Continuously evaluate and implement new database technologies and tools to improve efficiency.
Manage large-scale data migrations and database upgrades.
Automate repetitive database administration tasks to enhance scalability and efficiency.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
Advanced skills in database design, architecture, and performance optimization.
Strong experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure SQL).
Familiarity with database replication, clustering, and sharding techniques.
Expertise in database backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies.
Knowledge of security practices, including encryption, access control, and compliance.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) tools like Terraform for database provisioning.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for database automation.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in database design and architecture, with a proven track record of managing complex, large-scale database systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in database management (e.g., Oracle Certified Master, AWS Certified Database - Specialty).
Expertise in machine learning, AI, or data engineering applications in a database environment.
Experience with data governance, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
