Our client is a leading financial services company looking for an experienced Compliance Monitoring Head to strengthen their compliance and audit functions. This is a strategic role requiring deep expertise in compliance testing, auditing, and regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate should be able to challenge and push back on compliance matters, ensuring a robust compliance structure within the organization.

Position Overview:

This role involves developing and implementing compliance frameworks, conducting in-depth audits, and ensuring regulatory adherence. While the company already has a compliance and audit team, this position requires a more in-depth and hands-on approach to compliance testing. Initially, the role will function as an individual contributor with plans to build and lead a compliance testing team.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Framework Development & Monitoring:

- Design, implement, and oversee a robust compliance framework tailored to financial services regulatory requirements.

- Establish compliance testing methodologies and ensure ongoing monitoring of regulatory risks.

Audit & Compliance Testing:

- Conduct deep-dive audits and compliance reviews to identify gaps and mitigate risks.

- Work closely with existing compliance and audit teams, providing oversight and ensuring adherence to frameworks.

- Push back on non-compliance areas and enforce strong risk mitigation strategies.

Regulatory & Advisory Role:

- Stay updated with evolving regulatory guidelines in the financial services sector and advise internal stakeholders accordingly.

- Ensure all internal processes comply with industry regulations and best practices.

- Provide strategic recommendations to enhance compliance effectiveness.

Team Building & Leadership:

- Initially operate as an individual contributor, with the scope to build and lead a compliance testing team.

- Hire, mentor, and develop a team focused on compliance monitoring and risk assessment.

Collaboration with Product & Tech Teams:

- Work closely with product and technology teams to integrate compliance requirements into business processes.

- Ensure new product offerings adhere to regulatory frameworks and compliance best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

- 12+ years of experience in compliance monitoring, regulatory audits, or risk management.

- Strong background in financial services or other regulated financial institutions.

- Proven expertise in designing and implementing compliance frameworks.

- Deep knowledge of regulatory guidelines, audits, and risk controls.

- Strong analytical mindset with an eye for detail and the ability to challenge teams on compliance matters.

- Ability to work independently with a strategic mindset and leadership potential.

- Experience in building and managing compliance testing teams is a plus.

- Candidates with experience in financial services or NBFCs are a good fit.
