Senior Resident

Job Summary:

Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital, a 850+ bed super-speciality hospital and medical college located in the picturesque Dehradun valley facing Mussoorie, is seeking dynamic and dedicated Senior Residents for various department.

The selected candidates will work under experienced consultants and contribute to patient care, medical education, and clinical research while honing their expertise in their respective specialties.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and
• ordering necessary diagnostic tests.
• Formulate differential diagnoses and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Provide timely and expert medical and surgical care to patients across the relevant
• department.
• Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and emergency care services, including
• managing acute and critical cases.
• Perform or assist in surgical or clinical procedures as per the department's scope.

Medical Education:

• Teach and mentor undergraduate medical students during clinical rotations.
• Provide practical knowledge and hands-on training, ensuring that students gain exposure to
• clinical skills and patient care.
• Assist in departmental academic activities such as seminars, journal clubs, and case
• discussions.

Research & Development:

• Participate in clinical research initiatives and contribute to research papers and case studies.
• Stay updated with the latest medical advancements, practices, and technologies relevant to
• the department.
• Assist in publishing research findings in reputed medical journals and presenting them at
• conferences.

Collaboration & Multidisciplinary Care:

• Work closely with consultants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to provide
• comprehensive, multidisciplinary patient care
• Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and adherence to medical protocols.
• Ensure effective communication with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.

Qualifications:

Education: MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in relevant specialties from recognized institutions.

Experience: Relevant experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Fresh graduates may also apply.

Skills:

• Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills within the respective department.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Aptitude for teaching and mentoring junior medical staff and students.
• Proficiency in the use of modern diagnostic tools and technology.

Technical Expertise:

• Knowledge and experience in department-specific surgical and clinical procedures.
• Familiarity with patient management protocols and evidence-based practices in your field.
• Ability to handle emergency and critical care cases in a timely manner.
