Role & responsibilities

Customer Service-

  • Greeting Members and Guests: Welcome everyone warmly as they enter, creating a positive first impression.
  • Answering Questions: Address inquiries about memberships, classes, equipment, or facilities.
  • Problem Resolution: Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.

Membership Management

  • Registration: Assist with signing up new members, explaining membership options, and completing required paperwork.
  • Renewals and Cancellations: Process membership renewals and cancellations efficiently.
  • Payment Processing: Handle payments for memberships, classes, or retail items.

Facility Operations

  • Check-Ins: Manage member check-ins, ensuring only authorized individuals access the gym.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate appointments for personal training, fitness assessments, or classes.
  • Monitoring Attendance: Keep track of member usage and report trends to management.

Safety and Security

  • Compliance Enforcement: Ensure members follow gym rules, including proper equipment usage and safety protocols.
  • Emergency Response: Act as a point of contact during emergencies, such as medical situations or evacuations.

Administrative Duties

  • Communication: Relay important information to members and staff, such as schedule changes or upcoming events.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date records of memberships, attendance, and transactions.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and replenish supplies, such as towels or retail items.

Building Community

  • Encouraging Engagement: Create a friendly environment that fosters member retention and satisfaction.
  • Feedback Collection: Act as a channel for members to share feedback to help improve the gyms services.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Active listening skills to address member inquiries or concerns effectively.
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Previous experience in customer-facing roles (e.g., receptionist, retail, or hospitality).
  • Conflict resolution skills for handling complaints or membership issues.
  • Organizational and Multitasking Abilities
  • Capable of managing schedules, memberships, and daily administrative tasks.
  • Attention to detail when handling payments or records.
  • Knowledge of Fitness and Wellness
  • Enthusiasm for fitness and familiarity with gym equipment or classes (not mandatory but a plus).
  • Ability to promote gym services or programs to potential members.
  • Reliability and Professionalism
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Tech-Savvy
  • Familiarity with gym management software or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Proficient with scheduling platforms, email, and basic office tools.
