It has 9 operatiing road assets and a double rail track line under develeopment between Mughasarai and Kanpur on the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. The Group is also developing India's largest smart Airport City near Hyderabad airport and two Special Investment Regions at Krishnagiri and Kakinada. The Group has an elite security service business , with presence in 80 locations across 15 states. The Group's Corporate Social Responsibility arm, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, carries out community based development initiatives at 27 different locations across India and abroad.
Senior member of Team taking care of cluster of companies with responsibility to Supervise and direct Junior Colleagues:
Corporate Secretarial Department has to take necessary decisions and actions to make the Group compliant of corporate law requirements. It has to ensure all business / financial operations are statutory compliant and the job is more of operational than advisory. Its jobs include 1. Continuous monitoring of operations / managerial actions and ensuring they are compliant of statutes and corporate agreements. 2. Maintain statutory records, 3. Fulfill corporate statutory obligations by filing necessary forms and documents with statutory authorities, 4. Conduct meetings of Boards including its committees & members of corporate entity and 5. Continuously undertaking necessary actions, to uphold and improve Corporate Governance Process of GMR Group. As per the present statutes the Company Secretary is one of the three Key Managerial Personnel for a company and the Corporates fulfilling the statutory limits shall appoint a Company Secretary without fail. These services cannot be availed from outside technical experts. In house executive is essential for operating Secretarial services. Hence Secretarial function is essentially operational / managerial and cannot be considered as Technical.
The department maintains about 36 numbers of entities including trusts and LLPs. In order to ease the working of the department, the total entities managed by the department have been bifurcated into two clusters / streams of entities viz. (1) GIL & Associates (2) GHPL & Associates.
Both the clusters of entities are managed and operated by 2 teams of employees and each team is headed by a Senior Company Secretary in the rank of AGM / GM i.e. M5 – S10 or S11. Each team also contains a Senior member of team who will supervise and guide the junior colleagues of the team and support the Head of the Team in managing the jobs entrusted to the team. Each team also contains required number of executives in the cadre of AM (experienced Company Secretary with more than 3 years of experience) and JM who is a fresh Company Secretary that is not having more than one or two years’ experience. Each team also may contain trainees and coordinators to the required extent. The position of Manager – Secretarial will be a Senior member of the team taking care of a cluster of entities relating to GHPL or GIL Associates. Apart from the jobs mentioned above, A team takes care of some additional managerial responsibilities relating to corporate initiatives such as maintaining profiles of the group entities for effective monitoring of the Corporate Governance activities, safeguarding the logo and copy rights of the group name, optimization of boards’ strength, merger and acquisition relating to the entities managed by the cluster etc.

Extracting external support for the teams’ efficient functioning and supporting the Juniors by resolution of conflicts with external executives and HOD’s.
No conflicts - smooth functioning
Guiding the team members to finalize meeting dates, Agenda points and perfecting the drafts for Agenda’s and minutes to improve corporate governance.
Time bound execution without any delay
Supporting Head of the team in key discussions, decisions with inputs of legal interpretations, agreements and operational information etc.
Providing comfort to the Head of the Team
Supporting and implementing / managing corporate initiatives viz. group profiling, board optimization, standards improvement, knowledge documentation, creation of standard operating procedures etc.
Updated process standards and knowledge capsule
Undertaking and managing basic execution of compliance operations / jobs for selected entities
Perfect execution- no failure or delay.
