Responsibility :

1. Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to all students in the class

2. Teach according to the educational needs, abilities and potential of the individual students and groups of students.

3. Assign work, correct and mark work carried out by his/her students.

4. Assess, record and report on the development, progress, attainment and behavior of students.

5. Participate in appraisal of students’ performance.

6. Promote the general progress and well-being of individual students, groups of students or class entrusted to him/her.

7. Provide guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters and on their further education and future careers; providing information on sources of more expert advice.

8. Communicate, consult and co-operate with other members of the school staff, including the Special Educator to ensure the best interest of students.

9. Conduct review and self-evaluation of teaching and learning strategies, methodologies and programs in line with the American Curriculum guidelines.

10. Advise and co-operate with the Principal, Vice Principal, Head of Department, Supervisor, SEND Coordinator, and other teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programs, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral care arrangements.

11. Ensure high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning of the subject through effective dialogue, participation in peer review and observation of class teaching practice by the Head of Department; 

12. Ensuring the safe custody and optimum use of equipment normally used by Teacher in the classroom and staff room.

13. Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school.

14. Contribute to the professional development of new teachers.

15. Monitor student discipline and safeguard their health and safety at all times.

16. Participate in Staff Meetings and Parent Teacher Meetings as and when required. 

17. Participate in school assemblies and ensure order and discipline throughout the assembly time.

18. Register attendance of students and report absence immediately to the Supervisor.

19. Collaborate with parents for the progress of their children and communicate with them only to inform about matters related to their children.

20. Correlate with Coordinators and other professionals/stakeholders working with the student.

21. Help developing and implementing the Individual Educational Program (IEP) of students with Special Educational Needs.

22. Make use of audio visual technological devices/aides and other adaptations during the delivery of the lessons.

23. Take up substitution work when a staff is absent.

24. ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of classroom support, if any.

25. Submit Weekly Lesson Plans on time. 

26. Record assessment/test/examination marks as per directions on time and take accountability for all entries.

27. Participate and contribute in curriculum review meetings and take ownership of the developed curriculum.

28. Be a part of the textbook committee, review books in advance and help place the order for books latest by March every year.

29. Help to ensure that Department meets all academic requirements set by MOE.

30. Take up responsibilities related to school inspections. 

31. Commit to tasks which may require additional effort and time for the benefit of the school. 

32. Take minimum leaves during the academic year only in case of genuine reason. 

33. Adhere to the attendance rules and report to school on time. 

34. Adhere to school rules and their amendments from time to time. 

35. Take up and fulfill other responsibilities and duties as requested by the line managers, Vice Principal and Principal.
