Gleeds - Cost Manager - Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Segment (10-12 yrs)

Role Overview:

The Cost Manager - MEP will be responsible for overseeing cost management, contract administration, and procurement processes for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) projects.

The role involves working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure project financials are managed effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide post-contract services including interim applications, change management, variation valuation, and extension of time claims.

- Work with standard form contracts, preferably FIDIC, ensuring proper contract administration.

- Present cost reports and updates to clients, consultants, and project stakeholders confidently.

- Manage relationships with contractors and resolve cost-related issues effectively.

- Prepare and analyze monthly and weekly reports, including executive reports, Estimate/CTC reports, Cost reports, Procurement reports, and Tender reports.

- Oversee the procurement process, including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation.

- Manage post-contract cost variances and change control processes efficiently.

- Conduct cost checking and valuation work to ensure financial accuracy.

- Implement value engineering and life cycle costing to optimize project budgets.

- Negotiate and finalize project accounts effectively.

- Ensure comprehensive contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications: Education: B. E/B. Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and MBA in finance

Experience:

- 10-12 years in cost management roles, specifically within MEP projects.

- Expertise in post-contract services, procurement, and cost reporting.

- Strong understanding of FIDIC and standard form contracts.

- Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to present confidently.

- Proficiency in managing contractor relations and handling contract negotiations.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.

- Knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing methodologies
