Director - Data Science (8-12 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

Data Science Strategy :

- Define and execute a comprehensive data science roadmap for VWO, aligning with the company's overall product and business goals.

- Lead AI/ML-driven initiatives to advance the platform's capabilities in conversion rate optimization, personalization, and A/B testing.

Team Leadership & Development :

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data scientists and machine learning engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams to identify and prioritize data science opportunities that can be translated into product features and customer insights.

Model Development & Deployment :

- Lead the development of machine learning models and algorithms to improve user experience, optimize experiments, and deliver actionable insights to our customers.

- Ensure models are scalable, robust, and secure.

AI-Powered Optimization :

- Develop AI-powered features that enable customers to make data-driven decisions, improve website conversion rates, and enhance their overall digital experience.

Customer-Centric Solutions :

- Leverage data science to personalize customer interactions and optimize their journeys within the VWO platform.

- Work with the product team to ensure data science projects enhance the customer experience and contribute directly to product innovation.

Key Requirements :

- 8-12 years of experience in data science, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role. Experience leading teams in a SaaS or consumer-focused product environment is highly preferred.

- Deep expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced statistical modeling. Strong experience with A/B testing, experimentation platforms, causal modeling, recommendation systems, and personalization techniques.

- Ability to define and implement data science strategies that align with business goals and contribute to product differentiation and customer success.

- Demonstrated success in building, leading, and scaling data science teams, with a focus on mentoring, development, and fostering a collaborative environment.

- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or PyTorch. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and data pipeline tools is preferred.

- Experience working closely with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to deliver data-driven features and insights that enhance product functionality and improve user engagement.

- Strong understanding of A/B testing methodologies, multi-variate testing, and experimental design, ideally with experience in conversion rate optimization.

Preferred Qualifications :

Educational Qualification :

- Proven Research Experience : Experience presenting at academic conferences, with a strong publication record. Ability to critically assess research papers and apply insights to product development.

- Demonstrated interest and experience with deep learning and large language models (LLMs). Experience building applications using LLMs, including techniques like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and running experiments, is a major plus.
