Software Development Engineer III - Java Technologies (5-7 yrs)

Role Summary :

As an SDE III at Get My Parking, you will spearhead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge solutions that power our platform. You'll take ownership of key technical decisions, work closely with a team of excellent engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and data teams. You will have the opportunity to drive complex projects from ideation to production.

Key Responsibilities :

1.Technical Leadership, Design & Architecture :

- Own end-to-end system architecture and design of your area.

- Conduct high-level design and low-level code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and scalability.

- Drive the adoption of best practices in coding, design patterns, and technical decision-making.

- Ensure systems are designed with observability, maintainability, and extensibility in mind.

- Have a strong Metrics driven decision making mindset, track and prove the team's continually improving outcomes & achievements with trends focused on business data.

2.Hands-on Development:

- Write high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code.

- Develop robust APIs, microservices, or system modules, ensuring observability and reliability.

- Optimize systems for performance, reliability, and security.

- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to best practices, and maintainability.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work :

- Work closely with product managers and designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Collaborate with data engineers, QA, and DevOps to streamline the development and deployment pipeline.

- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and project estimation.

Continuous Innovation :

- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.

- Proactively suggest new tools, processes, and frameworks to improve development speed and product quality.

- Lead or contribute to internal tech talks, lunch-and-learns, and engineering knowledge sessions.

Minimum Qualifications :

- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong track record of delivering complex systems or platforms.

- BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

- Expertise in Java and related stack/frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring, SQL/PostgreSQL.

- Demonstrated experience in system design for highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.

- Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns, with the ability to apply them pragmatically.

- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience at a high growth product company.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

- Proficiency in distributed systems, microservices architecture & system design.

- Proven track record of leading teams or projects from concept to production, ensuring alignment with business goals.

- Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio demonstrating personal coding excellence.
