Job Description
- Lead, develop, motivate, and inspire our Data Infrastructure and Data Engineering teams
- Strive for data to be served from a single source of truth, and reduce duplication and redundancy in data staging efforts
- Position and represent Data as a strategic asset both internally and externally
- Own and lead the ASAPP Data flow design, Kubernetes management, and Data AWS infrastructure
- Be a key partner and establish effective relationships with our Product and Design teams to help build innovative features with a focus on delivering a great user experienceBuild Data Quality and Observability platform metrics to improve data tracking, usage, and improve quality
- Create and optimize a cost-effective strategy for scaling data infrastructure across various data sources
- Design and engineer real time reporting and analytics, and orchestrate self-service
- Drive the time-sensitive delivery of real time, accurate data within a production environment, reacting with urgency to data escalations
- 10+ years of experience in data infrastructure, architecture, data engineering, big data, and/or business intelligence
- Impressive leadership experience building and growing high-performing, geographically dispersed Data Infrastructure & Engineering teams
- Demonstrated experience creating reliable, scalable, and accurate ETL pipelines with and without ETL tools, and automating ETL pipelines with Airflow or similar
- Exceptional strategic and operational know-how, with an ability to be pragmatic and adapt quickly in demanding and dynamic environments and bring forward the right tools and processes to enable teams to rapidly and reliably build, deploy, and run data solutions
- Technical knowledge of data exchange and serialization formats such as Protocol Buffers, Avro, YAML, JSON, and XML
- Experience with Kafka and proficiency with Redshift, Athena, and MySQL
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the data infrastructure, architecture, and data engineering industry
- Success partnering with cross-functional partners, and an ability to positively influence teams, clients, colleagues, and sponsors and communicate complex concepts at varying levels of knowledge and technical understanding
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience handling unstructured digital and audio data
- Experience with data governance and security
